Part Number: BRA-653-041
This OEM-style brake combination valve combines the brake distribution block and internal proportioning valve into one assembly for front-disc/rear-drum brake systems. It is an OEM-style replacement for applicable 1970–1973 Ford and Mercury front-disc/rear-drum brake applications and may also be used when converting earlier vehicles to the later integrated combination-valve design.
Ford OEM Reference: D0OZ-2B257-C
Common Aftermarket Catalog Reference: C7ZZ-2B257-A — verify configuration before interchange.
This later integrated valve design may be adaptable to front-disc/rear-drum conversion systems on the following vehicles. It is not represented as a direct replacement for their original brake-valve assemblies. Verify brake-line routing, port compatibility, mounting requirements, master-cylinder compatibility, and overall brake-system suitability before installation.
For front-disc/rear-drum brake systems only. Earlier and conversion applications may require brake-line bending, rerouting, replacement lines, and/or mounting modifications.
Also available with the mounting bracket supplied separately for custom installation and conversion applications.
1967–1969 factory front-disc Mustang and Cougar applications used a separate distribution block and external proportioning valve. Beginning in 1970, Ford incorporated the proportioning function into the distribution block on applicable front-disc/rear-drum brake systems. The D0OZ-2B257-C valve is identified with Ford engineering numbers D0OA-2B328-D and later D2ZA-2B328-AA.
For 1965–1969 applications, this later integrated valve design is intended for conversion or adaptation use and is not an exact reproduction of the original factory brake-valve configuration.
When installed on earlier vehicles, conversion applications, or vehicles with modified or existing brake-line configurations, minor brake-line bending, rerouting, replacement lines, and/or mounting modifications may be required to properly align the brake lines with the valve ports.
Not for drum/drum or four-wheel-disc brake systems. Professional installation and proper brake-system bleeding are recommended.
OEM, casting, and cross-reference numbers are provided for identification and application-reference purposes only.
